Audrey Valbuena (she/they) is a product designer, storyteller and developer based in Brooklyn, NY. Her design practice focuses on intentional storytelling, reader-informed product decisions, and accessible UX practices.
She currently works at The Washington Post as a Senior Designer. She works to pitch, design and develop bespoke projects across the newsroom, as well as build reusable components and streamline team workflows. Most recently, she worked on a redesign of The Post’s election results pages.
Previously, she worked at The New York Times as an Associate Product Manager on the Design Systems and Accessibility team. There she helped ship dark mode to news apps.
Outside of work, she teaches handbuilding classes at a studio in Bushwick and is building out her ceramics practice, Bad Rat Studio.
